Becoming famous on the Internet : example of Sauce Blanche Crew

To answer to this issue I would like to tell you the story of my little band and association called Sauce Blanche. You can find our board there and our blog here. Sauce Blanche is both an association to promote cultural goods such as music, arts etc. and a bunch of guys making music, painting, video...
Our crew has been created more than two years ago. At the beginning it was only a podcast. But we did everything to promote it. Actually we created a podcast, a myspace, we "spam" many boards, mails, blogs, websites and myspace accounts to become a famous podcast. Plus we decided to update every month the music track to bring novelty. Today Sauce Blanche podcast is listened by more than 7000 people every month frome everywhere in the world : Philadelphia, New York, Paris, Japan, Mahgreb etc. I think we can say now we are pretty famous on the Internet thanks to that podcast.

One year ago, Valentin and Mathieu, two members of Sauce Blanche, decided to write music for Christmas Eve, that's why we conclude to promote their music through a classic Myspace Music account and a Virb account. That was the first step to introduce our works. Thanks to our Myspace we have met several foreign bands, coming from London, New York City and L.A. The first one did a remix of the track "Seul le ciel peut test", New York City band splitted and I don't know what they are becoming, and the artist of L.A. is currently working on a classic song remix of "Seul le ciel peut test"...

Moreover, we are preparing a mixtape for Erwan Kezzar a.k.a. and a mini CD of Electro-Pop Music. It is supposed to come out this spring.

Because of our pretty fame we succeeded in deejaying for parties. That was dope.

Now we have guests to our podcasts such as Raoul Sinier, Curtis Vodka, El Riko Balboa.

We try to develop our blog by using french digg-like such as Scoopeo, Fuzz, and web promotion features (sitemap, robots etc.). Everyday more than one hundred unique visitors head on our articles and read them. So Sauce Blanche is spreading all over the world, our works are beaming the entire planet earth...

Baptiste, - one member of Sauce Blanche - is currently exposing his works made with Paint in a very hype and luxuous hotel called the Hotel Kube, he became famous thanks to his paint blog and the magazine Technikart choose him as the artist of the month.

So as you see, it seems obvious : you can become famous on the Internet if you know how to use the promotions features and if you work hard on it.

A young girl who posted her videos where she sang music hits, has been signed by Justin Timberlake to his label. This girl epitomises this current trend.

Creativity

Bob said today he likes creativity.
Bob you should give a blink of an eye at this ad.

How to learn English online ?

A week ago, Bob asks us how to learn English online ?
After many researches I found several websites that are really useful if you aim to learn English.
The 1st one has been created by the BBC. The website is structured according to few principles : you can watch the news in English, you can train yourself by answering to quizzes and tests, take grammar and vocabulary lessons. Plus there is a sort of serial story called "The Flatmates", every week there is a new episode.
Besides this BBC service enables you to upgrade your professional english skill through two interestings sections. The section "Communicate" is a perfect example of e-culture : English learners can create their own blogs, you can sign up to the newsletter etc.
The section Business is easy-to-use : you could learn useful language and practical tips for getting a job, advices on working in a different culture from those who know etc.
To conclude, this website created by the famous BBC channel is a real success.

I found another website which could be very useful, for us, french learners. It's called Anglais Facile. There is a week lesson you can receive by mail. You have exams, grammar lessons, invidualised help thanks to the board.

According to me it's pretty easy to find lessons and helps on the Internet. Besides it's necessary to read English to upgrade your skill at this language. That's why the best way to become good at English is probably reading articles and articles on the Internet written in English.

PS: It's weird I didn't find good lessons on Youtube or Dailymotion...

Reading and Correction Test:
Correct the text below and place the corrected text on your blog. Pay special attention to words or phrases that are mistakes commonly made in translating from French to English:

Currently, I work in a society that has 65 employees. It is located in Paris in the 15th district in the street called Rue Maubert. Its reason is to commercialize children’s softwares.

It receives a allocation from the state to employ young interns. That is how I received my position which is titled sales manager. At the first time, my job title was marketing responsible, but I changed jobs.

We sell a line of products with the brand Youngsoft. We have many charges associated with marketing. Our bilboard advertising in the subway is one of the most expensive. Our PR department also has a very large budget. We create our own ads with our redaction staff, and we do our own publishing of user handbooks.

Our quarterly results for this year have been all very positive. Our market is very interesting right now, and that is why we gain funds.

We want to commercialize our products in Tahiti because we think overseas customers would be interested in buying them.

To sum up, because of our positive ethics and interesting market segment, we have a beaming future.

Why Bob should use Flock ?

Bob is our master at e-culture class. Actually is off the hook all the Internet trends. He owns the trends, he creates it... But weirldy he doesn't know Flock.

Flock is simply Mozilla Firefox with web 2.0 features. Thanks to Flock you can upload you picture on Flickr by a drag and drop movement. Then you can update your blog easily and share your favorites to web 2.0 services such as Del.icio.us

Flock is cool Bob. That's why you should use it !

Sorry, the video is in French, but it's the only tuto I found on a video website.

Thinking progressist on the Internet

A new website called Non Fiction has been opened last monday. The claim of the website could be summarized by that expression "A portal of books and ideas" . It's a website of news, ideas, and books reviews. The website has been created by researchers, journalists, activists, unionists, webmasters and entrepreneurs. This website aims to tie again with an intellectual journalism of quality, to allow to a new generation of researchers to speak. Their goal is simple but brave, they want to modernize progressists political ideas by reviewing and giving value to books of social sciences and to open the french ideas to the international.

The website is called Non fiction because of the fields dealt with : essays, documents, ideas articles... The core of the concept is based on pragmatism, and reality. They want to get rid of t he politic fiction. It's a pluralistic space anchored in the reality.

The logo epitomises the reconciliation between the Internet and the writing.

Thinking future needs a new generation of researchers, reviewers and journalists. The main way for this website to become a success is mingling excellence, exigence and transmission. As the creators say Internet is nor good nor bad, Internet is what we do with. It should become a reliable source of information, and a serious tool for the development of ideas.

This website is above all a medium, a medium who goals to become a sort of New York Review of Books on the Internet. It wishes to seriously debrief of the life of ideas, books etc.

Dove goes on promoting natural beauty

The famous brand Dove, after having won the Lion d'Or Prize this summer at Cannes for its ad campaign against pictures manipulations in magazines and against the cosmetic companies against natural beauty, goes on this new and pretty disruptive trend.

Now the new ad is summarized by this simple claim "Talk to your daughter before the cosmetic industry does".

Let's comment readers...

My Mémoire (n°1)

This year we should write a memoir, a sort of essay about the media or new media. At the beginning I didn't what kind of topic I could take. But finally I have found one, which comes from the bottom of my heart. I would like to speak about Vice Magazine. Probably you don't know what's Vice mag... That's why I am going to introduce it to you, dear readers.

"Vice is a free glossy magazine founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and currently based in New York City that covers contemporary independent arts and youth culture. The magazine's readership comprises young postcollegiate bohemians, often labelled "hipsters" Known for its controversial content, it often strikes a sardonic and ironic pose on debauchery, sex, drugs, violence, and social issues involving race and economic class."

I quote it from Wikipedia. According to me, this topic is interesting because nobody wrote anything on Vice Mag although it's a free magazine which is beaming around the world.

Actually I would like to work on the image of the "hip" guy or the trendy/faddy guy in the press. Vice seems to have built a sort of globalized image of the hipsters.

Now I have got my early question, I am trying to create a bibliography about the fads and the hipsters... And I should meet the CEO of Vice Mag France too and some sociologists.

This Label called "My memoir" will deal with the construction of this work. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Blogging can make you rich asks Loïc Le Meur

Head on Daily Blog Tips and you won't need my answer on my blog.

Maybe the main word is "RELEVENT". You should be relevent when you write on your blog and when you share informations. Comments are really really important in order to make your blog live. It should be an interactive platform. Besides you should do "links exchange" with your blog friends. Your blogroll is a way of meeting people and opening your blog to a community.

Then you could use some features such as Google Analytics, Digg-like as Scoopeo in France, nice templates and co.

Wordpress is probably the best php script in comparison with the other ones : typed pad, dot clear etc.

Plus, don't forget to use RSS feeds, it's the future.

Crowdsourcing for dummies

Youtube is so cool. You would like to learn about Crowdsourcing after having learned about outsourcing, and it's possible. I let you enjoy that powerpoint.

In France and in Europe the most famous model of Crowdsourcing is La Fraise. It's Europe's largest t-shirt design competition. From nearly 1000 weekly designs submitted, two to four designs are selected -- by a popular vote and a juried panel -- to be printed in limited editions of 500 shirts. The winning designer gets 1000€. Recently that french company has been taken over by Spreadshirt.

The main things in crowdsourcing is that it's based on the knows of the users. The last book of Andrew Keen deals with this idea of amateurism, you should read The Cult of the Amateur : how today internet is killing our culture. The NY Times review.

Pomku, an exemple of true generosity

Actually, I am trying to launch with one of my best friend a web 2.0 service pretty new and revolutionary. That website, called Pomku, will be the pure internet exemple of generosity. You should try when It will be launched.Introduction of Pomku :

Pomku is a 2.0 Web community service conceived by a group of dashing young boys. Pomku arose from a simple remark : the Internet is a media profoundly egocentric today ; I have "my blog ", " my myspace ", " my friends ". Finally everything turns around the individual on the Internet, ans if you speak too much about yourself what you write does not have interest more than for yourself. Pomku can't bear this tendency of the egocentric media. Thanks to Pomku I speak about other people, I speak about people whom I met. Pomku tends to be a perfect area to speak about somebody : I can express my thoughts on persons according to four feelings : enthusiasm, love, sadness and anger, all this in a simple and ergonomic environment. Pomku aspires to position as the alternative in the central question of the Twitter system " What are you doing now? " Replaced by: " Let's talk about someone with creativity ! ". The Pomku service will be launched in alpha test in the course of August.

The first version of Pomku seems to be very simple to use, the second version will begin to be developed after the launch of that alpha version. Pomku, thanks to its second version, will become attached in puts Pomku thanks to its second version will attempt to implement a human chain where each one can talk about the other who will talk about another person
etc. Every person who will be evoked can create its account and connect it to articles previously written on him.

Pomku is at the same moment a media which allows to speak with creativity of the other one and to let it know, and at the same moment « the universal collaborative who is who » Thanks to Pomku I can know an individual without ever having met him, but thanks to articles which were written about him.

Thanks to Pomku we leave the former system.

Some famous web 2.0 blog such as Techcrunch France and Mashable talked about us.

If you want to follow the project news, head on : Pomku blog.
